Does Malegra DXT Cause Changes In Heart Rate?
Malegra DXT is marketed as a combination of sildenafil and duloxetine, commonly used for men experiencing erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. Because it contains two active medicines, changes in heart rate can potentially occur, although they are not necessarily common.
Sildenafil generally has little direct effect on heart rate in clinical studies. However, it can temporarily lower blood pressure, which may cause dizziness, light-headedness, or a feeling of a faster heartbeat in some people. Rare cardiovascular events, including tachycardia and palpitations, have also been reported with sildenafil, although a direct cause cannot always be established.
Duloxetine, the other component of Malegra Dxt, can produce a small average increase in heart rate. Clinical trial data found an average increase of approximately 1.2 beats per minute compared with a slight decrease with placebo. Larger changes may occur in some individuals, particularly with higher doses or certain medical conditions.
If you notice a persistent racing, pounding, or irregular heartbeat after taking Malegra DXT, contact a healthcare professional. Seek urgent medical attention if heart-rate changes occur with chest pain, fainting, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing.
Men with cardiovascular disease or those taking blood-pressure or heart medicines should discuss Malegra DXT with a doctor before using it. Sildenafil must not be combined with nitrate medicines because this can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
